Marc Dumas DePaul ’93 Elected as Phi Kappa Psi’s 69th National President

Indianapolis – The Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity is pleased to announce the election of Marc Dumas DePaul ’93 as the 69th national president. Brother Dumas has served on the Fraternity’s Executive Council for the past six years in the offices of secretary and, most recently, vice president. With his election at the 81st Grand Arch Council, Brother Dumas becomes the first African American national president in Phi Kappa Psi’s history. He will lead the 10-member Executive Council through the next biennium.

Brother Dumas is a Founding Father of the Illinois Zeta Chapter at DePaul University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He served as corresponding secretary and president in his time as an undergraduate. As an alumnus, Brother Dumas has volunteered as Illinois Zeta’s chapter advisor, mentoring advisor, and as a member and president of the house corporation. He has also volunteered his time as chapter advisor for Illinois Theta at the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Brother Dumas brings a wealth of experience to the board as a distinguished real estate broker in Chicago and a dedicated community leader. Prior to his work in real estate, Brother Dumas spent time working for CDW and Brother International.

In addition to his professional experience, Brother Dumas is highly regarded for his civic involvement. He’s committed to mentoring youth through coaching baseball and co-chairing events for local organizations such as Camp One Step, a year-round camp experience for children with cancer.

The Fraternity remains committed to developing members of character by providing them with the proper environment and tools to pursue productive, honorable, and purposeful lives. As the newly elected president, Brother Dumas is poised to lead Phi Kappa Psi with a vision of strengthening community ties, promoting leadership among members, and expanding the Fraternity’s philanthropic initiatives.

Phi Kappa Psi Executive Council

The Executive Council is the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity’s national board and is comprised of ten elected members – four alumni officers and six undergraduate archons. The alumni officers are elected in even years at the Fraternity’s biennial Grand Arch Council, while the Archonette is elected in odd years during District Council Meetings.

Joining Brother Dumas for the next biennium are Brother Chuck Brandman CWRU ’70, SWVGP (vice president), Brother Chris Wheeler LSU ’01, SWP (treasurer), and Brother Ruben Campos Texas Tech ’95, SWAG (secretary). Continuing their service as archons are Brother Martin Nguyen SJU ’20 (District I), Brother Maxwell Pratt Capital ’21 (District II), Brother Jaylen Jude Valpo ’21 (District III), Brother Brett Thibodeaux UL Lafayette ’22 (District IV), Brother David Nunn Minnesota ’21 (District V), and Brother Riley Johnson Oregon State ’21 (District VI).
