Celebrating Black History Month
February is Black History Month and Phi Kappa Psi would like to take a moment to honor the notable black figures not only within our organization but nationally as well. We celebrate and pay tribute to the achievements and contributions of Black Americans not only in the month of February but year-round.
The movement and support for Black History Month was started in 1915 by notable historian Carter G. Woodson and spread through the country. It was finally recognized as a national holiday in 1976 by President Gerald Ford. To learn more about the origins of Black History Month, check out the links below:
We encourage our members this month, and beyond, to learn more about Black history and the notable achievements of the Black community. Take this moment to reflect, listen and learn. We celebrate our Phi Psi brothers in the Black community and their commitment to service and fellowship within the brotherhood.
