The brothers of the Delaware Alpha Chapter enjoyed a well-needed spring break in Punta Cana. After hitting the books again, the courteous men hosted one of their biggest philanthropy events, Phi Psichedelic, in April!

Massachusetts Beta – Brandeis

Submitted By: Joshua Uhl ’22

We led a drive for Gift of Life on campus, signing people up to be bone marrow donors. With the help of our brothers and our philanthropy chairman, we made a positive impact on our community.

New Jersey Beta – Monmouth

We are currently working to rebuild and grow our chapter after an unfortunate turn with the number of members. We have created a plan to recruit and develop our members with the help of our local alumni.

New Jersey Epsilon – Rowan

On April 20, 2024, we hosted our first Alumni BBQ. We spent the day cooking hamburgers and hotdogs along with playing games and reconnecting with our graduated brothers. It was great to see our brothers come together for such an event where we could enjoy a nice day and some good food.

New Jersey Gamma – Rutgers

Submitted By: Matthew Flatley ’23

The brothers of New Jersey Gamma have been partnered with the Embrace Kids Foundation through their RU4Kids program, which matches student organizations with sick children who cannot enjoy the simple pleasures of life like everyone else. Our buddy, Yasin, is 10 years old and frequently stays overnight at the hospital to deal with his illness. Although Yasin was not able to attend RU Dance Marathon this year, the brothers made sure to stop by and show him a good time with football and video games.

New York Beta – Syracuse

Submitted By: Henry Smith ’23

Hendrick’s Chapel, located in the heart of Syracuse University’s campus, for years, has taken the initiative regarding the food crisis seen in our community by collecting monetary donations and food items. The first Hendricks Chapel Food Drive Competition was a highly anticipated event that brought together 55 chapters of Greek life on campus. Over nearly five days, Greek organizations competed to collect nonperishable food items and raise funds for those in need. New York Beta distinguished themselves by not only collecting and donating the most non-perishable food items, but also by coming in second overall when combining both monetary and physical donations. Our impressive achievement, which included raising over $2,600 from 149 donors, reflects the dedication and commitment of every brother within our chapter.

New York Theta – RIT

Submitted By: Anthony Valastro ’22

On the weekend of April 6-7, 2024, the brothers of New York Theta participated in Relay for Life, where different organizations around campus and in the local community came to raise money for cancer research. Our own brother, Joshua Schwartz 19, had a vital role putting on this event as the co-president Relay for Life and American Cancer Society on campus. We are extremely proud of him for putting on such a fantastic event that raised over $60,000! The 12-hour endeavor was a fantastic experience with our brotherhood raising hundreds of dollars and 11 members of New York Theta made it through the whole night! Many more members were there throughout the night to raise money and morale as we all walked laps for the relay. During the later part of the night our brotherhood hosted a tug of war competition to bring the energy back to the community and raise more funds! This event provided lifelong memories and an amazing opportunity to get close as a brotherhood and a community!

On April 13, 2024, the New York Iota Chapter celebrated its 20 Year Chartering Anniversary. All 30 brothers and pledges participated in our Hunter’s Pledge Safe Driving events co-hosted with Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. We set up tabling around campus, many people approached, and we ended up getting 250 safe driving pledges signed by different people. And $320 was raised.

Pennsylvania Theta – Lafayette

In April 2024, our chapter partnered with LEAP (Lafayette Environmental Awareness and Protection Club) to host a philanthropic basketball tournament. Over 100 people participated, and we raised over $500 for LEAP. After a five-year hiatus, our chapter hosted Cherry Alley dinner with our brothers, alumni and families. Our chapter also hosted a Valentine’s Day Auction, and we raised over $5,000 for the MS Society.

Pennsylvania Iota – Penn

Submitted By: Darren Chen ’22

To try new events that we haven’t done before, our chapter threw a late-night band party in the backyard of our chapter house. It was well attended by brothers and other students. It was an amazing night of music and fun, and we’ll definitely be bringing it back soon!

Pennsylvania Sigma – SJU

Submitted By: Nicholas Barskiy ’22

Throughout the last few semesters, we have been working through a merger between universities. In that time, we were able to make a name for ourselves on the main campus, Hawk Hill, and recruited eight new compassionate and loyal brothers, our biggest class since the merger. We will also be moving over to the Hawk Hill campus starting next semester. We’re all looking forward to continuing this growth!

Pennsylvania Upsilon – Drexel

Submitted By: Zach Jordan ’22, Dakota Bender ’22

With the nicer weather in the spring, the brothers of the PA Upsilon chapter participated in a Schuylkill River cleanup. Over 20 active members came out and walked along the trails and walkways of the Schuylkill River Trail and cleaned up litter and trash that pollutes Drexel University’s neighboring river. We had a great time serving our community and working to improve the city we live in for everyone around us.

The College of New Jersey Colony

Submitted By: Thomas Goodman

In the recent recruitment process, our Fraternity successfully added 17 new members, bringing the total brotherhood count of our colony to 71. Reflecting on our recruitment efforts, we found that personal referrals and group interactions were most effective, and we plan to emphasize these strategies further in our recruitment process. One simple thing was to use a projector to stream a sports game at the latter part of our informational sessions, which served as a conversation starter. That led to genuine connections with potential recruits. Our main goal for next semester is to maintain a focus on quality over quantity, and to recruit individuals who not only align with our values, but also bring diverse perspectives and talents to our community. Additionally, as a relatively new organization, we aim to establish stronger partnerships with campus organizations and utilize alumni networks to expand our reach.

Note: The College of New Jersey Colony was approved in April 2024 by the Executive Council to charter in the fall of 2024. The Chapter held their rechartering in September 2024.

Rhode Island Beta – Rhode Island

Submitted By: Cam Farmer ’22

Greek Week at the University of Rhode Island is a time when fraternities and sororities are paired together to compete to see who can raise the most money and win in fun games and events. The charities this year were Ronald McDonald House, Michael J. Fox Foundation and The Outreach Program. Our chapter was paired with Sigma Delta Tau, and together we raised the most money out of any of the other fraternities and sororities, with a grand total of $38,195! With the help of our 110 active brothers, we were able to win Greek Week by one of the largest margins in URI history!
