Three colonies scheduled to charter in Fall 2019
Phi Kappa Psi is proud to announce that three colonies are scheduled to charter in Fall 2019. Colonies at Towson University, University of Missouri and James Madison University will hold chartering ceremonies in the coming weeks.
Towson | October 19
Formed in Fall 2017 and approved to charter in June 2019, the Towson colony will become Phi Psi’s Maryland Delta chapter upon chartering. The last Phi Psi chapter to charter in the state of Maryland was Maryland Gamma at the University of Maryland in 2007.
Missouri | November 8-9
Formed in Fall 2017 and approved to charter in June 2019, the Missouri colony will return as Phi Psi’s Missouri Alpha chapter. The chapter was the first fraternity established on the University of Missouri’s campus in 1869 and will be celebrating the chapter’s 150th anniversary along with the re-chartering.
James Madison | November 15-16
Formed in Fall 2017 and approved to charter in June 2019, the James Madison colony will become Phi Psi’s Virginia Theta chapter upon chartering. The last Phi Psi chapter to charter in the state of Virginia was the return of Virginia Zeta at Virginia Tech in 2018. The last new chapter to charter in Virginia was Virginia Eta at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012.
Each colony has met the guidelines required to charter and stands poised to represent Phi Kappa Psi in the highest regard on their college campuses.
“We are incredibly proud to welcome two new chapters with the chartering of Maryland Delta at Towson University and Virginia Theta at James Madison University, as well as to celebrate the return of one of Phi Kappa Psi’s most historic chapters with Missouri Alpha at the University of Missouri,” shares Zachary Herge (Toledo ’10), director of expansion for Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. “The men in each group have worked hard to accomplish the standards required of chartering and we look forward to watching their continued contributions to Phi Kappa Psi and their respective communities.”
