Introduced in 1998, the prestigious National Leadership Award recognizes notable Phi Psis for their professional achievements, the significant impact they have made in their communities and the impression they have left on Phi Kappa Psi. Each recipient serves as a positive role model for the future generations of our Fraternity and has made great strides in their chosen professions, their surrounding communities and within our organiztion. We are honored to call these men brothers, and are grateful they have embodied the values and The Creed of Phi Kappa Psi in their professional and personal lives.

William “Bill” J. Good Iowa State ’69 | Former attorney for the Johnson Law Firm

From his earliest days as a Phi Psi, Brother Good has been a fixture within the Iowa Beta Chapter and a force for good within the Fraternity. As an undergraduate, he served as recruitment chair, corresponding secretary, and treasurer. Prior to his impressive law career, he supported many chapters while working on the national Fraternity staff. Bill was instrumental in the rechartering of the Iowa Beta Chapter, is a longtime Chapter Advisor and also served along with his wife, Lindy, as house parents of the chapter. He has received many, many awards both locally and nationally for his volunteerism, impact on his community, and important mentoring roles with hundreds of undergraduate men.

Bruce A. Jackson CWRU ’70 | Former Vice President of Finance & Chief Financial Officer of Cedar Fair LP

Brother Jackson spent 17 years with Cedar Fair, an Ohio-based amusement park owner/operator. Prior to his retirement, he helped the company grow from three parks and one hotel to 12 parks and six hotels. Before Cedar Fair, Bruce had a 15-year career with Arthur Andersen and Co. and while there served as a partner and manager. Brother Jackson is extremely philanthropic and also passionate about the Fraternity, serving as the House Corporation President for Ohio Epsilon for more than 30 years and currently as a Phi Psi Foundation Trustee. In his role as Trustee, Bruce has led the organization’s finance and investment committees and has been a stalwart in shepherding the Foundation through to its current position of strength.

Charles “Charlie” J. Maxwell Jr. Iowa ’83 | Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Cresset Capital

Brother Maxwell has spent more than 35 years working closely with ultra-high-net-worth families. As a visionary in the market, he has built and cultivated a team of client-driven and caring professionals to serve clients, their families, and their communities. He takes great pride in philanthropic involvement and has a particular passion for child advocacy. He also currently serves as a Phi Psi Foundation Trustee. Charlie cares deeply for people; he goes the extra mile for his clients, his friends and his brothers.

Mark L. Reuss Vanderbilt ’83 | President of General Motors

Brother Reuss is a mechanical engineer who began his GM career as a student intern in 1983. With nearly four decades of experience within the automotive industry, he has served GM in numerous capacities and now leads the company in their vision of an all-electric future through its innovative technologies, products and initiatives. He has an appreciation for a number of philanthropies and is deeply interested in supporting and encouraging the education of the next generation of engineers and leaders.

John D. Watkins Jr. Miami ’79 | Principal of COhatch Regional Development Ventures

Brother Watkins is an experienced executive leader with a 30+ year track record of building, nurturing and leading teams that improve revenue, profit, market share and shareholder value for numerous corporations. He served as the former CEO of The VOID in Asia, ASC Fine Wines, and AVIAGE Systems as well as Vice President of Cummins and Northwest Airlines. Currently Brother Watkins leads the expansion and growth of a coworking, meeting, and lifestyle company with a mission to Strengthen Communities and Improve Lives. He is also an active volunteer and leader with multiple nonprofits both domestically and internationally.
